Lyonesse are Alissia vander Linden (voice, flute, small percussion) and Morgane vander Linden (voice, accordion, guitar, songwriting).

As two sisters growing up together while both crafting a love for music and singing, it was only natural that we started singing in close harmonies together. First of all, because it was so much fun to do. But as Morgane started exploring her songwriting abilities, it also became a way to add a musical depth and expression to her melodies and lyrics in a similar way as her musical idols Simon & Garfunkel skillfully did back in the day.

At first, we limited ourselves to singing, as we collaborated with different guitar players using a repertoire of cover songs. We changed line-ups and band names a couple of times before eventually adding Morgane’s songs to the repertoire, her accordion to the sound and settling with the name Lyonesse. For a period of about two years, Lyonesse had a fixed line-up of 4 people, in which a guitar player and a percussionist added their musical and rhythmic skills to our voices, accordion and flute.

Then, life came in the way. Several years later, Lyonesse was brought back to a line-up of just the two sisters, but by then, Morgane played the folk guitar as well and we enhanced the arrangements with small percussion and other tweaks to create a full and engaging sound on stage. Today, Lyonesse brings an intense set of original songs, with a folky-poppy sound, rich with close harmonies, lively melodies and lyrics worth listening to.

A first EP, titled “There And Away”, featuring five original Lyonesse songs, is on the way. Keep an eye on our news section to stay updated!
